ERP for furniture, wood and finishing
Driven by Delivery Dates
Needs and Preparation
Resources per Stage
Less Offcut Waste
Technical drawings are prepared for each product.
Materials and usage norms are calculated.
Wood is sawn to size.
Planing, cutting and joining produce semi-finished parts.
Parts are assembled into finished products.
Painting or a PU finish is applied.
Finished products are inspected.
Finished goods are packaged for delivery.
Production orders go to factories based on delivery requirements and progress.
Material needs are determined and material preparation is planned.
Production stages and the resources for each stage are identified.
This industry build shares the same custom ERP core. See the full platform and the other sectors we support.
What does a furniture and wood ERP need to handle?
A furniture and wood ERP is a management platform that links customer orders to the workshop: it turns delivery dates into job orders, calculates the timber, board and hardware each order needs, and tracks every piece from sawing to packaging. For manufacturers that work to order, it replaces spreadsheets and paper job cards with one shared view of what is being made, where and by when.
The platform starts from design drawings and the bill of materials, then applies material usage norms so cutting lists use panels and boards efficiently and offcuts stay low. Job orders are planned against delivery requirements and the capacity of each workshop or line.
From sawing to assembly, quality and packaging
Each step of the production process can have its own screens and records:
- Sawing and cutting: cutting lists per order, board and panel optimisation, registration of reusable offcuts.
- Processing after sawing: planing, CNC machining, edge banding and drilling, with methods and resources defined per stage.
- Assembly: assembly instructions per product, hardware picked against the order, progress reported per job.
- Quality: checks per stage and on the finished product, with defects and their cause recorded.
- Packaging: packing per order or delivery, labels and a link to the shipment.
Wood finishing
Finishing is often where furniture lead times slip, so the platform can treat it as a stage of its own rather than a single tick box. It can include:
- Finishing routes per product: sanding grits, staining or tinting, sealer, and the number of lacquer, PU or oil coats.
- Drying and curing times between coats, so the schedule knows when a part can move on and the spray booth or drying racks are not overbooked.
- Coating batches: which stain or lacquer batch was used on which order, useful when a colour has to be matched later.
- Rework and touch-up: parts sent back for sanding or recoating are logged with the reason, so recurring finish defects become visible.
- Consumption of stains, lacquers and abrasives per order, feeding into the real cost of each job.
How we build it
We build each furniture ERP around the client's own workflow and terminology, whether the company makes kitchens, contract furniture or solid wood pieces. The platform connects through APIs to the accounting and certified invoicing software the client already uses, and live dashboards show open orders, workload per stage and the finishing backlog. It is designed, built and supported by our team in Sintra.
